The department of interventional pulmonology & sleep medicine is the first of kind in this region, offering one stop solution for all lung disorders. There is an advanced pulmonary function laboratory, a dedicated sleep medicine unit apart from an interventional pulmonology suite. The department also has programs running for smoking cessation, early lung cancer detection, pulmonary rehabilitation and respiratory allergies.
Interventional pulmonology Procedures
- Diagnostic, & therapeutic High Definition bronchoscopy (First of kind in Chennai), Foreign body removal for all age groups (Dedicated paediatric bronchoscope), Trans-bronchial lung biopsies,
- Endo-bronchial usg FNAC (EBUS - First of kind in Chennai) , Bronchial stenting, Balloon dilatation for airway strictures, and
- Thoracoscopic diagnostic procedures , adhesiolysis & pleurodeisis.
Polysomnogram
- To detect sleep apneas, parasomnias & Restless leg syndrome in snoring and sleep disordered breathing
- CPAP titration can be done with an expert in-house sleep technician.
Thoracic surgery team
- One of the best in southern India with an expertise in Video assisted Thoracic Surgery (VATS), lung surgeries like Lobectomy, Pneumonectomy, Decortication & Mediastinoscopy.
